A violent sect of heretics who believe the highest virtue is martyrdom. They were formed by a Knight Divine in the 12th century who was known as St. Mortem. They believed in the spread of Christianity by brutal conquest and considered it blasphemous to rest or pursue peace while Christianity’s enemies existed. They were a powerful force during the Fourth Crusade, however, after they came back, they were persecuted by the Church in Rome, who deemed them heretical. They are extremely dangerous individually and in groups. They are present in France, Spain, and the Holy Roman Empire, as their kind was expelled from Italia. Some rulers accept them as guards or mercenaries due to their experience in the Crusades or in general swordsmanship.
